The Portrait of Kendrick Lamar

Description

This portrait of Kendrick Lamar was created in 2013/2014 – drawn with pencil shortly after I attended my first concert of his in February 2013 at Komplex 457 in Zurich. It was more than just a live experience – when I first heard his music in 2012, my entire perception of art and sound changed. It was as if I had entered a new sphere.

Kendrick’s music has shaped my thinking – not only artistically but also emotionally and intellectually. That moment sparked in me the desire to share my own art with the world. Not only to inspire others but to make perspectives, feelings, and questions visually tangible.

Whenever I listen to his music, I feel this creative urge. This portrait was created almost automatically – as a response to the deep impulse to draw whenever his voice sounds.
